How we write and check our guides.
Our guides exist to help people prepare better equipment enquiries. This page explains how they are produced and kept current.
Who writes the guides
Guides are written and maintained by the Heavy Plant Hire Australia editorial team. They draw on manufacturer information, regulator and industry guidance, and the practical questions suppliers ask when quoting.
What the guides are, and are not
The guides are general information. They are not engineering, legal, safety or financial advice. Work health and safety, mining, transport and environmental rules differ between states and sites, so we name the relevant regulators where we can and recommend checking current requirements directly with them.
Accuracy and updates
Each guide shows the date it was last updated. We review guides when regulations, industry practice or reader feedback suggest a change. Material corrections are made promptly and the updated date is changed.
Independence
Suppliers cannot pay to appear in or influence a guide. If a supplier listing is promoted, it is labelled as featured. We do not accept payment for positive coverage.
Rates, machine classes and scenarios
Hire rate ranges in our guides are editorial estimates of typical market pricing at the review date shown, for budgeting and quote checking only. They are not quotes or price offers, and actual prices vary by region, duration, specification and inclusions. We review them periodically. Machine size classes and technical figures such as ground pressures or bearing capacities are rounded, typical values; always use the manufacturer's data and site-specific engineering advice.
Illustrative scenarios and sample briefs are composite examples written to explain how the guidance applies. They do not describe specific real projects, clients or suppliers.
Directory data
Supplier profiles are built from published business information and supplier submissions. Where a profile only has basic structured data, we say so on the page and invite the business to complete it. Thin records stay available to users but may be excluded from search engines until they are completed.
